Located just 3 miles east of downtown Safford, Safford Regional Airport (KSAD) serves as the aviation gateway to the Gila Valley. Owned by the City of Safford, the airport offers essential aviation services, including full-service fueling, aircraft maintenance, charter operations, and emergency air medevac. With two asphalt runways and a concrete helipad, the airport accommodates a variety of aircraft operations. In 2025, commercial air service resumed with Grand Canyon Scenic Airlines offering flights to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, enhancing connectivity for the region. The airport also hosts the annual Safford Airshow, a community event featuring aerial performances and aircraft displays.
